How Cold is it?

Post by Old No7 »

Since "The Rock Pile" * is less than an hour away, I had to share this...

How Cold.jpg

Old No7

* Native Americans called it "Agiocochook" and didn't climb it, believing that its summit was the home of the Great Spirit.

My son has climbed it 4 times -- 2X in the winter -- and he's also climbed all 47 of the other "4,000 Footers" in New Hampshire.

Me? We rode the tram to the top of Cannon Mountain once to meet him at the summit. Where they had cold beer on tap! (Highest taps in NH!)

Not me!

I moved south a quarter century+ ago from Michigan. Originally thought I would miss the change of seasons and the winter. I do NOT! My blood thinned rapidly... and maybe a bit of age, but now anything below 30 is just too darn cold! Then again, 30 and damp feels a lot worse on my joints than 10 and dry as a bone. Again, age is playing into this!

Hit 60 degrees here in NW Oregon, and I took my old hotrod out for an hour to grab lunch! What a gorgeous day!

So cold that liberals have their hands in their own pockets?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

No degrees here right now in central Maine - which is better than things were
last night. The wind howled out of the north all night long - woke me up more than once.

Brisk but beautiful outside - the sky is as clear as a bell. :) :)
