32wcf Bowen Sights. I like it.

Post by Tycer »

I can’t find the post to give a hat tip to. Somebody recently got Bowen classic sights for their Blackhawk. Thanks 🙏🏼
I really like them! Today was the first day I got to use them. They are bottomed out and I’m using 7 1/2 grains of little gun.

And somebody recently posted about their experience with six gun magic. I’m gonna have to do that! I can’t shoot a faster bullet with the sight set up that I have. Hmmm. $400 well spent? I’m thinking…

Anyway here’s a 20 yard target, first day out with the Bowen Sights. 7 1/2 grains of little gun, 311316 bullet, 50-50 lube, 20 yards. I know this can do better, I am not a handgunner. A tad over 4.5”.

I’m really happy. I’m gonna miss the gun while it’s gone…

They are nice sights.

I'd say that it's shooting "minute of woodchuck", not all that bad for 20 yds and a revolver you're not used to yet.

Cowboy Tutt posted that article on accurizing a sixgun by lapping. I’ve had great luck on a few rifles lapping. This gun had .310” cylinders and .312” barrel at the throat and .313” at the muzzle. It now sports .314”+ chambers and .313” muzzle. Shoving a soft lead pill in the muzzle slides smoothly to the breech with light pressure and that pill drops easily but not loosely through the cylinder.

Thanks Tutt!

Aww shucks Tycer! Bowen sights are really well designed and high quality and I love mine on my Bisley as well. That was a really, really good article. Sounds like you have the dimensions of your firearm well worked out now. I am looking how to ship my Bisley back to Sixgun Magic for repair, but might load up some fire lapping bullets for this Saturday's trip to the range before I do. Thank you Brother! -Tutt

I did have to remove a fair amount of metal from the grip frame to fit the sight. Was easy enough.

Very nice sight! It looks like the old Millett Sights replacement rear sight for S&Ws and Rugers from the 70s & 80s. I had added one to my Old Army and my Dad's too (and also had to remove some metal from the frame).
