Uberti "Stallion" -- 22LR SAA
Denis Prisbrey (DPris), a former fellow Levergunner here, wrote a favorable article about a 12-shot version of the Uberti Stallion 22 LR (a scaled-down SAA) back in 2015 years before he passed to the great shooting range up above. I found one recently -- a 6-shooter -- and after handling it some in the shop, I had to have it as a companion for my Marlin 1897 Cowboy levergun.
Got to admit, she is purty!
I sure hope she shoots as well as she looks.

I miss his posts. He had genuine first hand knowledge without being snooty handing it out.

I do too Blaine. I really enjoyed his articles in "Guns of the Old West" magazine too.
Darryl, that is a sweet looking sixgun. Looking forward to the range report! If I ever come across one of the 12-shooters I am going to grab it!

Is the size similar to the old Colt .22 SAA revolvers they made? I'd be interested in one if they aren't too small for my big meat hooks!

Re: Uberti "Stallion" -- 22LR SAA
I read somewhere (CRS attack) the Stallion, like the 1970s Colt Peacemaker/New Frontier 22s, are 7/8 scale copies of the SAA. I've shot several of the Colts but have only handled the Stallion. That Stallion is a very nice single action.

Re: Uberti "Stallion" -- 22LR SAA
Correct. The dealer I got mine from called it a "nice solid 3/4 scale 1873 in 22 LR".
It really feels great in the hand -- gotta get it out shooting soon!

about the same size as the colt 22s and viritually identical size to the ruger single six.marlinman93 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 12:21 pm Is the size similar to the old Colt .22 SAA revolvers they made? I'd be interested in one if they aren't too small for my big meat hooks!

I'll probably keep looking for a full sized SAA in .22LR, as my hands are too large for any of the smaller versions.hfcable wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 6:57 pmabout the same size as the colt 22s and viritually identical size to the ruger single six.marlinman93 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 12:21 pm Is the size similar to the old Colt .22 SAA revolvers they made? Re: Uberti "Stallion" -- 22LR SAA
Adjustaable sights are useful on many guns, but I dislike them on a SAA format handgun. Mainly for the looks of the sights, as to me they always looked out of place on any SAA design. I have several extremely accurate Hi Standard .22 pistols that I shoot if I want something really accurate, so not interested in target accuracy in a SAA .22hfcable wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 10:09 amuberti did make the full size 22. i had one and of course it was quite heavy . i dont know if they ever made the full size with adjustable sights which , for me, are really helpful on a 22marlinman93 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 10:03 amI'll probably keep looking for a full sized SAA in .22LR, as my hands are too large for any of the smaller versions.hfcable wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 6:57 pmabout the same size as the colt 22s and viritually identical size to the ruger single six.marlinman93 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 12:21 pm Is the size similar to the old Colt .22 SAA revolvers they made?
