Years ago, when Marlin produced these rifles in three calibers (218 Bee, 25/20, 32/20), I couldn't seem to get my hands on one. What would be a "ball park" value of an 1894 CL 25/20, likely in very good condition ?
An estate auction in my area has one of these listed.
Thanks for any opinions.

Re: Marlin 1894CL 25/20
I saw one in excellent condition in a gun shop in Mississippi about 3 years ago for $850. I wish I had bought it.

Check gunbroker.com for “completed auctions”, and you’ll be able to see what they have actually sold for. You’ll have to get a [free] log-in to do that, but it is a good way to see what people really pay for them.

I have the 32-20 and the .218 Bee...................I would expect the 25-20 to be around 750-1k today. they will NEVER BE MADE AGAIN............................ .

I have the same two - bought both used but in good condition, and would guess the 'middle one' probably slightly under $1,000 unless you just stumble on one at a garage sale.
And keep in mind that even IF they "are made again" it won't be by the same guys who made the 'classic' ones, and even IF they are made perfectly and wonderfully, the collectors will still want the 'real' ones from the original company and workers.

I wouldn't mind having one of those myself -- I did the "completed auctions" thing on Gunbroker and found they'd recently sold from $611 (had a big old scope mounted on it!) to $915. Less money than I'd have guessed. Need to figure on another $50 or so for shipping when comparing.
