Dixie gun works
Anyone deal with these people, i`m looking at their 1862 police replica and want to know if quality from Dixie is equal to other sellers.
I have a post in classifieds here but if i don`t get any replies soon probably buy a new one.

Yep seen your reply and replied, Dixie says in stock on their site.

Re: Dixie gun works
I have had dealing with Dixie Gun Works but it was a few years ago, I found them to be very competitive and efficient, my first Dixie catalogue was a 1965, it was a couple of years old and I picked it up from Westley Richards when they threw it out.

Re: Dixie gun works
I sure like those shorty revovlers. All .36 cal bp revolvers are spendy tho. Hope find them at a decent price.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Re: Dixie gun works
I've bought from them since the 1970s. A Uberti or Pietta replica is what it is. Other importers have specialty finishes or factory tuned guns they order for their sole inventory, so that they can stand apart from the herd. I've mostly bought supplies (wads, caps, powder, tools etc.), by phone, online and in person. Their store is a treat in itself. Their catalog is all encompassing! If they have what you're looking for... I wouldn't hesitate. Just know that you're going to receive a standard production gun, about the same quality as you'd find in a Cabela's for their imports.

Lenn, I have dealt with Dixie for decades. Sometimes they are the only importer that insists the Italians get the details right.
I wish they weren't so backed up right now.

Re: Dixie gun works
I've never bought a Dixie marked gun from them, but been buying parts and accessories from them for many decades. They've always been great to deal with and parts were good quality.

Re: Dixie gun works
This what you're wanting bro? Of course this one says Colt on it but it's a 2nd gen that I got off the SASS Classifieds. 006 has one he might give you if you ask him but it's an old crusty one.
I've shot this one a few times and it seems very small to handle but I really like it. Get some fffg, .375 balls and no. 10 caps. Mine shoots really high as in about a foot at 20 yards.

Pitchy,
Go over to Cas City Classified, immediately, if you are still interested in an 1862 pocket pistol. Just moments ago, I saw and ad from a person selling two pistols. One for $350 or both for $600. One is 5 1/2" the other is 6 1/2". You buy either one or both.
Hope this helps you if you are still interested in this model.

Re: Dixie gun works
On the subject of Dixie Gun Works, their catalogue would be one of "must have books" if I was ever marooned on a desert island, full of interesting stuff.
