I've been seeing more lately too. I bought a box of PMC .44 Magnums at a show this morning for $25. Usually make my own, but he had a box of Federal .357s that my dad wanted so we made a deal for a few bucks off. There were a lot of guys with large inventories of ammo and components, but I didn't see many people buying. Prices were still over the top. There was one guy that had a pile of older boxes of Hornadys and I got all excited when I saw two boxes of .338s but they were spitzers and not the flat points for the .33WCF. Rats!

That's good news. I'm hoping to find accessible primers soon. Still waiting on a shipment of surplus powder that should be "any day now". Cooling my jets for a few more days, looking forward to doing some reloading soon.

Well now this sounds good ! I’d be up for 10,000 WIN 209’s at the uninflated price . A pound or two of RL25 could find a place on my shelves as well .

When I got down to just under 4 pounds of 2400 I began looking. No luck but I recently bought 5 pounds of accurate TCM and am going to experiment with it. The good news is, it has, not only a near burn rate to 2400 but the volumetric density is close also.

As for percussion caps, they are the last item on cci's priority list but rws and olin have come to the rescue and perhaps remington will soon be back in the component game.....
I saw some Remington caps the other day. I didn't look to see if they were 10s or 11s, but they had 5-6 of them. They've had musket caps all along, but I had plenty of each and don't shoot BP often so I left them for the guys that do. Same store had more powder than I've seen in awhile and they've been rationing primers to two hundred at a time. Now they're up to 500 a day. I did see at Walmart, three boxes of Federal( I think) 333 round packs of .22lr for $18 each. I didn't buy any, I've got .22s coming out of my ears. My dad told me a very long time ago, never run out of .22s. :D
Going to head back out there this afternoon to see if they have any .44wcf stuff, my latest obsession.

Man oh man... sure wished I'd have seen this post back in May! 2 big matches in the interim and I'm down to a couple hundred Rem #10s! Plenty of round balls & powder, so my percussion shooting will be cut back!

If you will check Midway and Natchez every morning you will find some primers and powder just about every day- you gotta be quick tho and expect to pay 70 to 80 dollars a thousand for primers.

Ray wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 7:04 am I read recently where schuetzen/wano/r.w.s. had over two millions percussion caps imported back in may. Every single cap was said to be sold in something less than four days !

Again I ask where are all of the brasilian, filipino, italian, mexican, russian and serbian imported primers. I've asked that question directly to manufacturers and distributors via email and the few responses I've received cite covid restrictions hindering full production. I have no choice but to acknowledge that all of those countries listed above were hit very hard by the confounded chinomicrobe but are they or will they soon make and send us some primers ?
And now there's the whole shipping debacle. I seriously doubt they'd send such merchandise via air freight, so the container issue raises its ugly head as well as the above mentioned problems...

Now you've got me poking around Starline's site again, wondering about that 327 Mag brass I backordered last January... and low and behold, here's an item that MAY be of interest to the denizens of the forum.

They also have a lot of "odd ball" pistol calibers in stock, well worth checking out what they've got.

The loader of this cartridge needed a stiff-jacketed 150 gr. softnose for his .30 w.c.f. The U.S./n.a.t.o. M80 ball 147 gr. turned around backwards and crimped in the cannelure is hoped to get him by until he finds some kosher 30-30 bullets....
That's an interesting boat tail hollow point... curious how it works out.

So I borrow the old lady's kitchen sieve.....er, I mean beloved bride of 32 years.....and I screen several pounds down finer. Then I take the briquets left on top of the sieve and gnosh them a bit in the mortar and have reserved the results of that for long-rifle & musket pan priming. The critics of such efforts prophesy assured egregious fouling and inaccuracy. I don't think two or three cylinder-fulls between spritzes of water/ballistol and minute of pizza box at thirty paces is out of the question.....

What think ye ?

Someone may need new specs... saw " I had some FF and 1.5 and "reenactor". So I borrow the old lady's kitchen STOVE..." and wondered what novel way you'd found of blowing yourself up  Sounds like (now that I've got the sieve part understood) you've just done a bit of quality control. Don't see how sifting out larger kernels would increase fouling.
