Be careful out there.

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

I was surveying the tornado damage yesterday and it was impressive. Huge trees just snapped. A 2x4 was driven lengthwise through an air conditioning unit. Just brutal. Dad says the 60 percent of the homes in D’Hanis Texas are uninhabitable.

There were muddy armadillos everywhere. Rabbits and other critters were out because their homes were destroyed. But so was this fellow. First blood for the Jeff Quinn Special.

Wow! Tornados sure put out some impressive power. This month marks the 10th anniversary of the one that wiped out a big percentage of the town I was born in. It sure changed the place to where I'd no idea WHERE I was if it wasn't for the GPS.

So, did you get the hide to tan as well as the rattles? :D

I take it that wasn't one of Skeeters Cow Killing Loads.

Just an ordinary Keith bullet over 7.5 gr of Unique. We were very fortunate. Lots of property damage, but everyone came through it without injury........which is more than I can say for the snake.

I do not like snakes of any kind. I don't tan their hide, I don't generally mess with them at all. But I have killed a lot of rattlesnakes over the years and I still do at every opportunity.

Besides, I had to test my loads before I head for Raton in June!

Glad that everyone was unhurt. I understand that rattlesnakes kill mice and rats, but so do plenty of other snakes which are not venomous. Cats and terrier dogs are also good for keeping mice and rats under control. I can live without the rattlesnakes. I will kill any aggressive snake that comes toward me. Rattlesnakes are on my list of kill on sight critters.

I'm planning a batch of the same load, doubt I'll have a chance to test it before Raton though. To much to do in too short of a time frame.
