Tornado

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

While I have been enjoying the heavy rain we are getting in town, it appears that a tornado tore through the ranch last night. I have reports that it blew the roof off of my sister Pam's house and it sucked the windows out of my sister Debbie's house nearby.

My folks appear to be ok, but they report a lot of tin scattered about and broken trees. Won't know the damage for a while.

I'm praying for the people involved.

Been in a couple, and their sheer power is amazing for ‘just wind’.

Prayers for safe lives and minimal damage.

I don’t have any reports of injuries. Just property damage thus far.

Praise the Lord. 10 years ago one ripped through the town where I was born. 135 people killed and a mile wide path of destruction across town. Property damage is reparable. Deaths leave gaping holes. Glad to hear there were no injuries.

A railroad train was derailed in DeHanis in West Medina County. It is hard for me to imagine the force it takes to do that.

I've been out working (police work) in two hurricains and they did not have anywhere near that kind of force.

Additionally, some of the hail was 3-6 inches in diameter (definitely enough to kill a cow or man).

Glad to hear of no injuries. I grew up in CA, earthquakes are powerful, hurricanes are relatively slow moving, but tornados with their irregular track and jumpin', skippin' around are devastating!
