Dickinson Plantation 20 gauge SxS Shotgun

Post by Old No7 »

Awhile ago I'd sold off a nice Dickinson "Estate" 20 gauge side-by-side when (a) I had the hots for something else and (b) a guy at the range had offered me more than I'd paid for it many years before. But there's something about a trim l'il double gun -- especially one with double-triggers and really nice case colors -- that attracts me. So when I saw this one heavily discounted recently, I went for it to put a 20 ga double back into my safe again. It was sold as used, but I can't find a mark anywhere on it.

This Dickinson Plantation 20 gauge is an upgrade over my prior Estate model as it has much better wood, a nicer fit of the stock to the metal, false side plates and the case colors remind me of an old Colt. It will be a number of months before I can hunt any game with it, but I look forward to a few rounds of skeet or 5 Stand with it soon.

Gosh, I'm such a sucker for pretty guns. I just hope I can keep this one for awhile...

Darryl that's a really beautiful shotgun, I'll say one thing for the Turks they sure can make pretty looking guns.

I am in the market for a side X side 20g but looking for a cheap old knock about gun with a bit of life still left in it to go with my "freebie" Zabala .410.

I looked to those , handled one at Cabelas and I wasn't impressed by it for the $ . I spent double for my Rizzini and am extremely happy! Oh and its a 28. But now I NEED a 20also!!! Can't complain about those colors though!

30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Nice shotgun! If I was in the same place as a 16ga Dickinson with double triggers it would come home with me.
