Little helpful thoughts !

Post by 6pt-sika »

Well on the positive side none of the family contracted the crud from my BIL . On the negative side however he’s in his local hospital taking antibiotics , can’t keep normal food down , has pneumonia and is on oxygen now . I hate to say it but in my opinion his prognosis ain’t good . Any and all kind thoughts on his behalf are appreciated .

Prayers sent. Glad to hear he didn't pass it on.

I talked to the boss last night . She said he’s off oxegen and able to keep regular food down and actually is hungry . I assume before he was trying to force himself to eat . I do not think he’s oughtta the woods yet but I do believe he took a turn in a positive direction . Evidently the antibiotics they gave him helped but took a couple days to kick in . Ricardo’s only 61 two years older than the boss and I . Thoughts prayers are appreciated :!:

Yes ! They’ve not told my mother in law of his predicament even though the boss took her for a nose swab . She’s 88 and as any mother would worries a lot in situations like this .

It’s kinda funny but in a way it’s not , each day I talk to my five year old grandson on a video call . He kinda knows what’s going on and since this happened to his great uncle he’ll say “Ampah don’t go out you stay home so the virus doesn’t catch you” !

Hope he is on the mend. Pneumonia is bad news.
I've never had the Rona, but I've had Pneumonia. I'd lay odds it has a more deadly track record too.
Prayers for a quick and full recovery.

The boss seems to think he’s on the way to recovery . But I suspect it’ll take more time than she anticipates . Thanks for the prayers thoughts and kind words .

Prayers sent for him. I just 12 hours ago found something I could eat, after more than 3 weeks. Pineapple greek yogurt. When crackers taste like wet sawdust, and coffee has no flavor at all, you know something is wrong.
Tonic water tastes bad, but has stayed down. The pineapple Greek yogurt is a heavy meal right now.

She told me he was asking for regular food last night and today and was able to sleep . They don’t have the food options we have here and if the stuff was there most of those folks couldn’t afford it anyway .

Glad too hear! Never a good thing such as covid. Just curious, is he a smoker? Just wondering if nonsmokers have a better survival rate then smokers, or they respond differently to treatment.

Don't know about him, but I am a never smoker. Part of my issues are that I have some genetic abnormalities that should have killed me before I reached a year old. Weirdly, I am immune to Bubonic Plague, but very susceptible to tylenol. 1 dose of tylenol shuts my liver off for a month. Aspirin doesn't do anything at all for me. 100 of the 325 mg aspirin at a single dose doesn't even make my ears ring. For most people, that would make them bleed to death. No effect. None. Last I heard, there were 36 of us with my genetic issues known in the U.S. How we are even alive is a mystery. It sure is difficult when you try to tell an average Doctor that you are missing the 2C19, 3A4, and 3 other absolutely necessary liver enzymes. Most of them automatically think you are an idiot. Show them your genetic profile, and they go blank. Huh! What is this? Where is the rest of it?

Hope and prayers for the best. Even a mild case has been a PITA for me. Yes, diarrhea is one possible symptom. Like I said, PITA.

Most of the symptoms for COVID are what I've had everyday for several years. Some COPD will do that for you. Picked up a SARS a few years ago that wrecked the lungs. Ain't whining, it's my own fault.
