You guys see what someone else posted on another thread....a kick A 1886 and the pictures came right off the Internet....a man has every right to brag about a fine gun like that but it sure would be more believable if the individual posted a picture with her holding it...... :D :D

Naw, Six, we'll have to agree to disagree, in your analogy parlence (1st Ladies), that comparison would between a Red delicious and a horse apple!

Call me old fashioned, but... I'd demand the 1928 Thompson. Or, preferrably, a suppressed SBR!

Well, Mr. Six... It's like this... us working stiffs can't necessarily afford nice Winchester 1892s... and have voluntarily taken ourselves out of your market... ergo, reducing by however many the number of potential buyers of those same nice Winchester 1892s. In theory, keeping your price for your Winchesters down. :P :P So... I have 3 Rossis, all bought new... and any wear and tear on them is of my own making. They are all in chamberings that Winchester never bothered with... the 1st of them was slicked up using a method that NKJ doesn't approve of... But, that was 34 years ago, and being young, dumb, and not knowing any better are my only excuses. The 2nd was purchased and slicked up a couple of years later, using very much nearly the same method that NKJ used in developing his method... tho' probably not to the skill level he exhibited! The 3rd, using the same method as the 2nd.

I have owned one Winchester 1892, a 24" octagon bbl'd .32-20. It was very smooth, a great little shooter... but SWMBO, decided it was one too many, and adding another cartridge to the stable didn't suit her ideas of frugal. And she was already enamored with her, very personalized, little 20" Rossi carbine.

Because this country is so wussified, the vast majority of people today are incredibly insecure. On top of this, they are incessantly told how special they are.
As such, most fall into two categories.

One group thinks everyone has to be exactly the same. That's why they are communists.

The other thinks they should be king of everything. They love rules for everyone but themselves.

Keep it wired tight boys. You can count on very few people.

Guess I wasn't the only one. Not much activity here.

After last weeks mess, I should run up to the lot today. I have a lot of work clearing roads and trails. The trail I made last fall looks like it'd never been there. At this rate, in a few years there won't be a tree upright on the whole 200 acres.
I went up and did a recon the other day. Got some major work ahead. At least none of the trees with stands came down I guess.

Yeah. We got a bunch of wet, heavy snow. It stuck all over the trees and bent em over. Then we had high winds.
Not good.

Just got home. Got a fair amount done but there is a lot more. The snow is gone now. Hopefully it will stay like this. I can get a lot of work done and get around with the four wheeler.
I'm beat. Glad I don't work in the woods. :D

Have had good visits up through all the states but living there would be different. Iowa and NE PA both had there times also. But, that was only for colleges, not daily work.

While the wife and I haven't traveled extensively, we were quite taken with South Dakota, Wyoming, and of course, Alaska. We could most likely live in these places, but we do love Maine, and we are just old to make a big move.

Oh goody. I absolutely hate winters like this. I'd rather it 10 below and 12 feet of snow than this.
Maybe I can get some work done at the lot though. Got a fair amount done the other day, but there is a lot more to do.

OW, here we see something I am sure your are familiar with. These mountains at about 40 to 80 miles rise to over 8,000 ft. The valley floor here is at about 2350'. So, here, whether we get snow depends on how low the snow level comes down. 3,000' is pretty common and probably what you see here.

Anyhow I loaded Parker and we went bird hunting. With the wet conditions I opted to take my 'BIG' gun today- the CZ 410 . It cleared its throat 4 times, I needed a second barrel on one bird- thats what I get for trying to shoot the beak off! Parker is really coming along!

Congratulations Gunny. It was just a crappy day here weather wise. I did some casting( yes I did some round balls for ya Gunny) I did some reloading, I worked on the suspension on the old race car and I then cooked bacon wrapped scallops seasoned with Cajun shake, garlic, butter, and lemon juice broiled in a cast iron skillet. Mmmmmm.
