Okay, I just bought a stainless Rossi 92 carbine in 44 Magnum. I have a 454 Cassul barrel and tubular magazine assembly. I am nearly certain that the 44 Magnum can be converted to 45 Colt — by swapping the two named devices that using ONLY 45 Colt ammunition and handloads, or by turning the 454 Cassul barrel's chamber down then rechambering to 45 Colt and swapping.
My Missoula gunsmith, Kris Bonner (Accuarms), is backed up for nearly a year. If the information I presented in paragraph one is accurate, I need to find someone who can complete conversion within a reasonably short time. Anyone who can furnish CONTACT information for my conversion, please let me know on this thread or messaging through this web site.

Check with Nate Kiowa Jones to see if he knows anyone who can do the job. I would be surprised if he doesn't.

To convert a 44mag Rossi 92 to 45lc is do-able. But, there is more to it than just changing barrels. The cartridge guides are also different and the 454 mag tube you have is different. you would be money ahead if you sold the 44mag and the 454 parts and just buy a 45lc.

Thanks for the advice, Steve. I was also curious. Of course, that is why I suggested checking with you.
