Not a whole lot anyone could have done in this happening...
This was a small doe.
I don't think anyone was badly hurt but I imagine both driver and passenger badly needed a bath and a change of underwear.
A car 50 feet in front of the truck clipped the deer, which went straight up in the air then came down on the windshield of the truck. Deer was cut in half and showered the passenger with blood and guts...
Ow ow ow....
But hey, at least the Truck's OK. I'm pretty sure they can get that to buff right out...

Even if the insurance company did say they could repair it, I would refuse to take possession of it. Even if they gutted it and replaced the interior it would never be right.
JUNK IT!

Driver of the truck might have been lucky, my Grandfather came upon a car once that had hit a deer which came through the windshield, still very much alive, and had apparantly kicked the poor man to death. Richard

Not really. The truck was hit by an airborene deer that had just been hit by another car.
I think if that jimmy had hit the doe square on there would have hardly been a dent.

The driver was very lucky. A couple years ago I was pulling freight up throuth the Peace River Gorge. Same scenario except that the deer went though the windshield of a rig pulling logs. The driver was killed.
My wifes best friend was killed eight years ago when a moose came through the windshield of their Toyota P/U. It kicked her to death before her husband could them out. Bad deal.
I take care of a dozen or so roadkilled moose for the Troopers each year. Never pretty.
