And Starline adds another caliber!
.. But it is just .270 Winchester brass. Some of us were hoping for something far more obscure ...
Re: And Starline adds another caliber!

And yet they won't add 32WS.
I don't even care if it's 30-30 and just has a 32WS headstamp.
It isn't a big deal, but when you have several rifles in both chamberings, the correct headstamp would be nice.

"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Re: And Starline adds another caliber!
Can't think of anything more boring than a .270 except maybe a .243 Winchester.
I'm with Jay, need more .32 Winchester Special! I've picked up quite a bit at the local shows but it would be nice to have some new brass that isn't loaded
with the eraser tipped Hornady stuff.

Yup. I'm hoping with Winchester chambering the 32 again there will be more factory availability.2ndovc wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 5:11 pm Can't think of anything more boring than a .270 except maybe a .243 Winchester.

The only brass available the last few years has been Hornady. Prices are ridiculous.
I don't really get it. There are tons of rifles in this chambering out there.
I've sent several emails to Starline. Maybe a bunch of us should send some more.

Re: And Starline adds another caliber!
Been hoping they would come out with a 25-20 for some time.
Re: And Starline adds another caliber!
I like the idea of my new to me 32WS wearing the correct headstamp. The .30-30 brass I used was annealed by me. I took a propane torch and stood the brass up in an old skillet that the non stick coating had been scratched. I added about an inch of water, and heated the brass until it started to change color. This was brass that had been through the tumbler so that it was clean and shiny. I used a wooden dowel rod to knock each piece of brass over as it changed color. I used a 1/2 inch dowel rod that I used a Dremel sanding drum on to make the front sort of U shaped. That way the brass fell where it was supposed to go. I may have left some of the brass a little harder than intended. Out of 80 pieces, there were 2 with split necks after sizing. No complaints. It was my first try at it, and the brass was used and had been reloaded 4 or 5 times. I know that new brass would be easier. It wouldn't even need to be annealed. I just used what was on hand. I don't push my .30-30 hard, and the brass seems to last forever. I have a .30-06 for things that the .30-30 is not quite enough power. Of course, my shooting ability is as much of a limiting factor as is the gun's power.
