John's 1st buck

Post by t.r. »

This is an older photo from early 90's which was made into an "e-version". This was John's first California buck.

My brother and I hunted public land in mts separating Napa and Sonoma counties of northern California. This is a dandy coastal blacktail John toppled with his (new) 30-30; one shot at about 75 yards or so did the job nicely.

I miss this area very nuch. We never had to deal with frostbite or blizzards. The hunting was fairly easy hiking at near sea level conditions.
Maybe I'm just feeling my age more.
