Hunting in Australia some friends of mine followed a track until it came to a closed gate. The sign on the gate said . They understood even though they did not speak Aussie.
No such sign found or needed when a hunter approaches a King Ranch fence in south Texas.
Crossing over or even shooting across is a really bad idea.
On the other hand, any game that has jumped their fence on to your property is deemed fair game. Shot my first 8 point buck that way - just 10 yards inside the fence of the ranch owner with whom I was hunting.
I also passed up an across the fence shot at the biggest wild whitetail buck I ever saw - 18 points! Witnessed by two other hunters that wanted to remain on good terms with their neighbor. I never regretted doing the right thing.
