Greetings
New guy here, just signed up. I was just wondering about the layout of the forum. All I see is general discussion, classifieds, politics, and memorials. I was looking for the levergun discussion areas and stuff like that. I'm not seeing anything. Are those areas not open to new members?

Welcome to the fire, we discuss all sorts here, occasionally someone will mention lever action rifles but we don't hold it against them

Welcome to the fire.
Yeah, if you haven't noticed, this is a pretty laid back place.
Levergun posts are always welcome......especially with pics.

Re: Greetings
We lump it all together, because too many sub-topics gets confusing (and we're kinda simple folks here), and it's fun to see what other stuff is being talked about.
We do separate 'politics', because [soabpoxmode ON] some folks are too squeamish for it, and/or think that somehow gun control won't ever affect their leverguns, and I guess that's ok, because some days I just don't want to be depressed. Still, I think if we shirk our duties there, we won't have our leverguns much longer, and even non-gun-owners should step up to the plate and be politically active and second amendment supporters. [/soabpoxmode OFF]
We separate 'classifieds' also, because those posts 'expire' and aren't meant for comments or 'gun reviews'.
We have a separate 'in memoriam' section because we're getting old, but [soabpoxmode ON] if we all do our part, we will recruit plenty of younguns into the shooting sports and replace ourselves...[/soabpoxmode OFF]
We mix in 'levergun' stuff with stuff everyone agrees goes with it - like single-action revolvers, but mix in stuff about other guns that most of us just like, like Evil Black Rifles, suppressors, and so on, as well as non-gun stuff that most of us like, such as tractors, fishing, motorcycles, and some pretty funny jokes, as well as BlaineG's jokes.
(...actually BlaineG's are very punny... )

Welcome to the land of opinionated levergun enthusiasts. Just a warning, don't invite that guy that posted 3 from the top...(Old Win) over to your house. Even in 95 degree weather he wears big heavy coats with multiple pockets made from an animal that has curly hair.----6

Nothing out of the ordinary, just a 336.
There's nothing wrong with a Marlin 336, and some M-336's were created better than others - like the Sporting Carbine's (336SC), the 336 Texan's (336T, 336DT & 336TS), the 336 rifles (336A) & the Marauder, to name but a few.

Yeah.....we actually throw you IN the fire, if you don't post pictures for us to drool over, envy, pick apart, and use as excuses to buy more leverguns (...."See honey, look at all the guns that guy has, and he's just a normal dude....obviously I need MORE leverguns...you want me to be NORMAL, don't you......????" )M. Re: Greetings
The amazing thing about this place is the range of member knowledge and experience ingrained here. No matter if you need advice adjusting the left brake metering valve on your P-51 Mustang someone here can "advise and consent" and even have a spare if you twist off that darn left-threaded thingy. I only hope the "advise and consent" part doesn't get this thrown in the political section. Oh, and one more thing. There will be one who will argue the P-51 doesn't have a left brake metering valve even though yours is in pieces on your garage floor in a puddle of oil.
