Shot it with .44 Special loads using the 250 gr. Keith bullet ... 7.0 gr. Unique ... nice pleasant load. Hit quite high at 50 yards ... a little low at 110 yards but was accurate enough to hit a 3 foot section of 4x4 post that was standing up.
250 gr. Keith bullet in .44 Special with 16.5 gr. 2400. Flatter shooting and seemed accurate enough but did not try it at long distance on paper.
250 gr. Keith in Magnum cases ... 18.5 gr. 2400 .. somewhat like the the 16.5 gr. load in the Special cases.
290 gr. cast flat point in magnum cases .. 21.0 gr. H110 ... fairly stout load ... very accurate. Shooting with open sights at 50 yards 2 shots cut and one out slightly. This target was my first 3 shots at 110 yards. All shots were off sandbag rests.
Finally got the Marlin 1984 44 Magnum on the Range

Cool. One of my first, favorite, and still-use-for-whitetail guns is my Marlin 1894.
Are you south of the equator now...? I noticed the target was upside down...

Thanks Doc....I'm on the throne dropping a Chuck Schumer off at the pool and got a good laugh.
Jim...I've owned several of those rifles and never could match the accuracy that I get out of pistol calibered rifles that are 100+ years old. Must be that 1-36 or 38 twist.---6

Mine had XS ghost ring sights. With .44 Mag Magtech loads or Winchester JSP it shot very good groups.

My old 1894 in 44 mag loved a Lee 310 grain bullet with 2400
. I know that gun isn't supposed to shoot that bullet....don't tell me, tell the gun loved them. I traded it( like a dummy) for a 1894 P and haven't had the time to work with it much...yet. Good luck Jim.
