Oh Yeah! I couldn't help myself if I had that puppy.
Got that 1911 finished I was telling you about. Got the grip and thumb safeties all fit.
My son is back up this weekend. Couldn't wait, so we stood out in the rain shooting it.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.
OldWin it must of turned out ok, pic if ya got one?

Thanks bud. It could use some blending between the grip safety and the frame. The thumb safety could be contored a bit too. Today was mostly a function check.

I'm never likely to even see a Bob Munden tuned peacemaker, but I'll keep dreaming that one day one of his 7.5" barreled, .357 magnum, Colts will magically fall into my lap.
In the meantime, you enjoy that gun and cherish it.

Pitchey, you can shoot my 9mm Hi-Power if I can shoot that. Bob would wonder why you ain't been shooting the snot out of it all along. Would have loved to see one of his shows in person. Todd/3leg

Six the light played a trick on ya she`s fluted.
Ya Mr. Munden did wonderful things with guns, this Colt is as smooth as glass, he replaced the flat trigger spring with a wire one and tuned the main spring and made it adjustable.
This gun was made in the early 70`s I believe but will have to look it up again to be sure.
Thanks everyone.

The wife and I got to see one of his shows at a Chrysler dealership parking lot in Des Moines, Iowa in 1992. (Can you imagine that now!!!!) He had a bit of an ego but he was REALLY fast with a gun. His wife was no slouch either. After the show he was inside with a couple of his revolvers he was showing and he would take orders to make you one. I got to fondle one, but that was a close as it got. Needless to say it was out of my price range, but I did buy one of his VCR tapes of his show that he signed and dated. I still have it.

I forgot to ask, I`ve been wondering if the gun has added value because it was tuned by Mr. Munden now that he has passed away.
Thanks.

Well, I don't have anything tuned by Munden, but I do have an USFA that was tuned by Long hunter. I also have a 3rd gen Colt in 44-40 but it is the same as it came from the factory. God Bless.

I just shot both my Colt SAAs yesterday at a cowboy action match. One had been tuned by Munden, now they're both wearing Bill Oglesby tune-ups. Bob was great, but about 5 years of use in cowboy action shooting his mainspring broke. He's in ID, I'm in TX... and a match coming in a few days. Found a factory mainspring, and then proceeding to re-profile it, using his as a pattern. Whereas his were rough around the edges where he ground them, I made this one smoother'n a baby's butt, basically... polished all the way around it. 26 years later and it's still in the gun.

No I ain't ready, but let's do it anyway!
Cool beans Griff, I do most my own work also and I doubt I`ll ever shoot this enough to wear anything out.
The wire hand spring is another improvement imo.

That is a nice looking pistol. It seems to be asking for a Keith style bullet over a load of Trail Boss powder, or some other moderate load so that it can show just how accurate and fun it can be.

Thanks again guys, yep I gotta load up some light loads and shoot her a bit.
Yep that stiff hand and trigger spring is hard on things for sure.

Thanks Bill
Just loaded 200 rounds using 6.5 grains of Unique and 200 grain cast bullets, thanks go to Six for the bullets and MM for the 44 spl cases.
I went out and shot a few and they are real mild and seem pretty accurate, will get a vid shooting it in a couple hours.

Well I`m ashamed of these groups, the rear groove on these Colts is so fine it`s a blur without my glasses and with my glasses the target`s a blur.
The load is nice and pleasant to shoot.

Oh man, I shouldn't have watched those!
That thing makes me sick with envy. Fathers day is coming up, how bout sending your old buddy Jay that old Colt as a little gift?
Beautiful Colt Lenn. I'd say you did pretty well with the old girl. I usually do best if the sights are clear and let the target fuzz a little.
Thanks for posting that, bud.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.
Thanks Jay, I did a little better with my glasses on the left target but I did much better with the 1860 conversion with the wider rear sight.
Oh well it`s all fun and it`s a joy shooting these single actions.
Wish we were closer so ya could give her a try.

My son and I were out shooting my 2nd Gen .357 a couple weeks ago.

Dude you got cool stuff and excellent taste. Steam trains, Colt .44's etc. You gotta have a muscle car stashed away somewhere.
Thanks pard, had a couple back in the 70`s but only thing I have now is a dern Harley and a home made board tracker.

Pitchy excuse my lack of knowledge I think I know what a Harley is but what the heck is a board tracker? God Bless.
It was basically a bicycle with a big motor that they would race around a oval track made from 2x4`s.
Do a search on board track racing .
