I just couldn't leave it there. $179 w/ 3 magazines, box and paperwork.
I had one when they first came out and gave it to a friend that was living in a pretty nasty neighborhood. Thought I'd get it back when he moved but still hasn't happened 20 years later.
Always thought they were kinda under rated. Real work horse of an auto pistol.
Still had three more magazines in my stray mag drawer so I'm all set for now. I have a holster for it somewhere around here.

Still have mine. Don't really need it, but it 'pairs' nicely with the Ruger PC-9 carbine that uses the same magazines, so I reckon I'll eventually sell them as a pair.
Good question! I usually like to go into the "library" and giggle at the obnoxious prices, like the WWI Enfield No.1 MKII that was priced at $2195! This one was tucked back in the corner of one of the cases and I had to do a double take at the price tag. It was marked $199 but while the guy was doing my paper work another one of the employees said he had a guy that would take a Franchi shotgun if they would take $100 off. So I asked the same question. He wouldn't give me the same $100 off but he did 10%. Can't hurt to ask!

It looks brand new. Good find. I have it's younger sister ,the P95. They are good shooters. No longer supported by Ruger but there are plenty of parts online and they are not difficult to work on.
That was a steal, if nothing else hold on to it for trade-bait.
The Ruger P9x series was terribly underrated
US military should have gone with the P95 instead of the Beretta, essentially the same quality and the Ruger is American made.
(yes, I know the P95 had teething problems, but that got sorted out quickly)
I've got the P90 in .45acp, far as I'm concerned it's better than the Sig 220, at half the cost. (heresy, yes I know)
There are couple big name gun writers that agree with me.
$179? I'm still shaking me head. (even more so that you got it at Cabelas!)
I loaded up some magazines and stopped by the range for a quick 50. Inserted a magazine, racked the slide and "click". Huh? Pulled back the slide and saw the round land on the ground, picked it up and nothing. Not even a trace of the firing pin hitting the primer. Did it three more times. Nothing. Pulled the trigger five, six times on the last one and got just a tiny dent. Back to Cabela's I went.
The gun guy says, no worries. We'll send it to our gunsmith and have it fixed at our cost and get it back to you. If it can't be fixed they will refund the money and all is good. I've had a couple dozen Rugers over the years, new and used and have never had one that didn't work. Even the ones that looked like they shouldn't work always went bang. Hopefully it can be repaired. Has to be the pin itself of the safety as far as my thinking takes me.
Anyway, I'll let y'all know when it comes back.

I've owned a P90DC and a P94DC. They were rugged but the large grip and loooong trigger pull finally got old.
P89, and not a DC. And you're right, not the most ergonomic pistol ever. I bought it for two reasons, it was cheap and I wanted to preplace my "paranoia" gun that I keep hidden in the basement. Not gonna be an EDC.

I still have, and still shoot, my old original P85. It was recalled soon after I bought it. It came back and has never failed.
I would have checked to see if Ruger could have fixed it.

Don't really care who fixes it as long as it's fixed. It's not a warranty issue so doesn't really matter at this point. If I can get it back in a couple weeks as apposed to a couple months from Ruger I'm fine with it.

FWIW
When Ruger discontinues, or stops supporting, one of it's firearms, that means that they will no longer supply either parts or service for the subject firearm.
