Did six stages of cowboy action today. Shot the 1851s, only hangups were on stage one... one FTF on last shot of pistol one, and it threw me off the game... with both the 2nd pistol and rifle...
1860 Henry in 45 Colt. Nary a problem... except there wasn't any wind... so after the first shot, I was sorta guessin' where the rest were.
1878 Colt scattergun 12 ga. CCH'd receiver and 26" bbls. (got it from NJK... did I say it was (is) a beauty!?
17 grains of 3F, a wonderwad, & .375 swaged RBs in the pistolas. 31 grains of GOEX "Cartridge" under a 225gr TC cast in a RCBS 45-225-CAS mold lubed with SPG and sized to .452. AA Hulls, however much a MEC #41 bushing holds of GOEX "Cartridge", a Win RED wad and 1oz of #9 shot.
This is the FIRST time I made it thru a single stage with the 1860 and BP, and this time I shot all six without cleaning the rifle. No misses after that 1st stage debacle! Slower'n molasses in the winter, but good fun!
I know what caused the 1st stage FTF, gotta get rid of the CCI caps. The Remington #10s work all the time! No pictures, but can get witness statements if needed!

Then, to top the day off... Scored a Garand! New to me! Definitely a Shooter grade... but what's the fun in just collecting? Except for the op rod, all original. Good crown and nice bore. Pick it up in 3 weeks... didn't have all the cash on me today!
