Levergun Hog Hunting

Post by cnjarvis »

I went out to the farm this past weekend to do a little turkey and hog hunting. I didn't have any luck but I pulled a few photos from the trail camera and took a few more.

I spent all day Saturday huting about 360 acres of mostly pasture with a few draws and canyons and a creek bottom without seeing anythign or hearing so much as a gobble. That's rather unusual for this place. To add insult to injury I saw about a dozen turkey on the bridge at the east side of the place on my way out. !@#$

I spent Sunday morning hunting hogs on the ground about 20 yards from the feeder in the pic. No hogs but I did walk up on a nice deer that just stood there and looked at me from 15 yards as I walked by. If only that would happen during deer season... That afternoon I brought a pop-up blind out and sat but the only thing I saw was an armadillo. I think the wind was working against me yesterday.

At any rate, here's some pics:

I can barely wait to go out again.

The picture shows some spotted hogs. Its fun to see if you can shoot
the ugliest one you can. They seem to take better pictures than the pretty
ones.

The white ones with black spot don't have as much hair to burn off as the red-brown ones. Might not even need a cutting torch!
