Went fishing today.
Mine, 42 inch, 23.1 pounds. My friend Dale's was 41 inches and 25.8 pounds (it had a whole herring in its belly). Fished off my boat, a 19 foot Grady White Tarpon. Fished off the mouth of the Severn River in the Chesapeake bay. 2.5 hours on the water and we had our limit

Nice looking Stripers !
Down here in the Chesapeake Bay they're referred to as Rockfish .
Any time I go to the bay I'm all about the Stripers !
I have a friend that chases them in the Potomac and in the Bay . Yesterday they got one 42" and another at 41" have no idea what they weighed .
They got both of these on the Potomac yesterday !

Many of the reasons to just get a charter boat 3 or 4 times each year !Griff wrote:I miss salt-water fishing with my Dad. Always brought home dinner. Hated the cleanin' off salt off rods & reels, tho'...

Wish we had your striper fishery out here on the Left Coast.
Re: Went fishing today.
I've seen pictures of many taken around Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard that were in the 40-60 pound range .Bill in Oregon wrote:Wish we had your striper fishery out here on the Left Coast.
Kinda funny the fish I like to go after are an eclectic group !
Brook Trout , Rainbow Trout , Crappie and Stripers .
But some of that might be explained by the fact that I like eating all those mentioned provided they're filleted or for the small trout stuffed with crab meat .

I don't mind fishing by myself if your late!!
Re: Went fishing today.
Nice. I fished Chesapeake bay years ago for stripers, some bank fishing with blood worms and cut bait and one boat charter.

Very nice! Thanks for the photos.
Only fish I ever caught that big has been deep sea fishing for Ling Cod out of Monterey and Big Sur coast area (California). Lots of fun!
