3 new shooters

Post by MikeS. »

I took a good friend from work and his 2 boys shooting today. Doug had shot a bit a long time ago back in Utah. His boys had never touched a gun before. Doug brought his MILs break open 22lr that she has him storing.

I brought along a Ruger MkII, my Marlin 39 :D and 60 3 .357s and a .44 magnum.

The 1st thing I did was give the 3 of them a safety talk. When they were shooting me or their dad stood over their shoulders.

They had a blast, literally. We shot about 400 rounds of .22 and Doug shot about a 100 of .357 and 40ish of .44 magnum.

So now he is talking about getting a gun of his own :D I'm recommending a 10/22.

Inspirational!

Every opportunity we get to introduce someone to "our world", especially the next generation, is an opportunity we should sieze. The anti's aren't going to stop, and they are banking on fewer and fewer of us being around as the years go by.

Thanks for doing this!!! :D

Yes hearing pro is a must. I have spent enough time on machine gun ranges and have the hearing loss to prove it. :( I am rabid about hearing pro.

On his radio show, Tom Gresham refers to this event as providing 'innoculation against anti-gun propaganda'. Well done; 3 more on our side. Let's have everyone here promise to do the same before November. 8)

Now... Your next assignment is to bring along NRA forms. Should you accept this assignment, I will, of course, take all credit and avow that you did the right thing! They may not be the "best", but they are the strongest voice we have in support of our rights.

Excellent 1st step. Congrats, and my hat's off to you, Sir.

I was talking to my work buddy last night, the 1 I took with his boys Wednesday. As we were talking the new lady, Gail, came over to say goodnight.

Now Gail is a black lady born and reared in DC, bred to hate guns from birth. I asked her if she'd heard of our outing the day before. She had, so I asked her if she'd like to go with us next time. She said no. But within a minute she changed her mind and said that she would like to. :D

So now I'm gonna work on setting that up, probably for next week.
