I too used a patched ball holder similar to yours' but had never thought of making it into the shape of a cross. Really like that. Maybe I'll make some.

I'll be darned. I had one of Joe's books many years ago.
My current muzzleloader is a club-butt Marshfield fowler, such as my Wood ancestors in Plimoth would possibly have owned in the early 1700s. Mike Brooks of Iowa built her for me. She is .75 caliber.
Cshold that is real cool. Some years ago, I carved my sister (a missionary) a large ivory crucifix with all edges chamfered and a high polish. Perhaps it's times for another, maybe mammoth this time.
