Case of the "I wants"
Was totally surprised to find out about this new Ruger hunting revolver. Lipseys lists MSRP at $969. It has probably already been widely discussed here and I snoozed through it.

I have the .454 SBH Bisley. A great gun and super accurate.

I had a .480 SRH when they first came out. I think the Bisley SA version would be easier to shoot.

Dang it Rusty. I hope Ruger cuts Jeff a good deal on their stuff, 'cause he sure sells a lot of it for them!
Re: Case of the "I wants"
I'm sure he gets the standard offer all the gunmakers give to the writers. In the industry I believe they are called T & E guns.

I've had a 480 on order since the Monday after it was announced. My dealer is having fits trying to get his hands on one for me.

Re: Case of the "I wants"
Fantastic!...I had and hunted with a 44 Magnum Super Blackhawk Hunter for a few years. Then I got a fantastic deal on a Freedom Arms #83 in 454 and never looked back. Killed a big bear with it (one shot to the back of the head) and a whitetail. Amazingly accurate firearm.......and a "Go Together" with my Rossi 454.
The SBH for under $1000 is a STEAL!
But I bet they are all sold out already............

Bill,
Sure is! Anybody over 18 can hunt with a handgun here. There are no laws regarding minimum energy or barrel length North of the shotgun zone (which is downstate). In the shotgun zone the minimum caliber is 35 and you must use a straightwall cartridge.
