New shotgun for truck, camp, and fun
Got a stoeger double defense 12 bore. I put the rails on and those I added a surefire scout light underneath and holographic small frame on top. I can see under the holographic sight to the true glow green fromt bead or use the electronic sight. I shot some clays thrown and static using the bead and the sight. The open chokes worked well as did both sighting systems. I then moved to buck shot and followed with some slugs at 25 yards. I have a side by side slug 12 bore that was custom built and regulated for certain slugs, and not wanting to use those slugs, I used some military federal ammo I had from the old days. I was very impressed the Stoeger. As a camp gun, I think it will fit the bill. I put an ammo cuff on the butt. Need to get a sling on it and then it will carry ready. I would call it a bit heavy but not a problem at all. It is magna ported and that plus the weight made for a ready second shot. I just may use this on opening day of dove season in a month.

Yes, it happened, but since the photos are upside down it must have happened in the southern hemisphere.

20 inch IC barrels. The light can come off quickly. Since dove hours are noon to sunset, the light would never be on. Should be legal I won't be hunting dove with it on though.

When Remington was still importing the Sparten line I got a 12 gauge 20" with a single selective trigger and screw in chokes . The thing had "decent" turkish walnut and after I got it I had a Pachmayer Decelerater Old English padd added and a set of Jerry Fisher sling swivel studs . The studs are the type that require two crews to hold them on . Anyway that thing shot very well at skeet , trap and with buckshot . Never did try slugs in it . Think I sold it back about 2009 and kinda wish I had it back !

I have 2 Stoegers, a "Coachgun" and "Uplander", both w/double triggers. They've been reliable and proven durable through the abuse I've heaped on them in CAS for the past 28+ years. Now that I have 2 TTN clones of the Colt 1878 in 20" & 26" length barrels to match the Stoegers, they don't get used as much. I've never had either hiccup.

FWIW , there was or still is a Stoeger Condor "Outback" 12 gauge O/U that's 20" with screw ins etc that wouldn't be bad if one liked vertical stacked barrels better then horizontal !

Re: New shotgun for truck, camp, and fun
If I ever run across a CHEAP set of Parker fluid steel 12 gauge barrels that have already drastically cut and they still ring I just might get them and fit them to whichever gun I have that the frames the same . Have them faced of at 20-22 inches and send them to Briley for some thin wall chokes !
