I really like that show. There's a place in that movie that alway's tends to make me leak, just a little. A cowboy's honor, a man's honor.

Several of us have been trying to find a copy of the Lee Marvin version at a reasonable price, but so far no luck.

And the book is on the MUST READ list. The movie covers only a couple chapters from the book.

IMO Selleck tops Marvin as a cowboy. Ain't even close.

Selleck is pretty good as Robert B. Parker's "Jessie Stone" character, too.

There are some of us old fanny burbs who would debate the point were it worth debating.

Mr. Marvin was the real deal in life ... served as a sniper with 4th Marine Division .. was wounded badly enough on Saipan that he was discharged .. most of his outfit was killed during that fight.

I love what Mr. Selleck has done as far as realism in firearms, clothing, etc. and would never say he was "inferior" to Mr. Marvin.

I hold them both in high esteem.

Well Warhawk, that 'll teach me to be more patient won't it? I paid just about about that much for each of them when they came out on DVD.

I'd seen Selleck in Last Stand at Saber River, Crossfire Trail, and Monte Walsh, but didn't have them in DVD. I can't live without Quigley Down Under so I had it. I ordered the first three mentioned DVD's from Amazon and just received them yesterday. Picked Monte Walsh as the first one to watch. I think I'll watch Last Stand at Saber River tonight. :D
