There are some of us old fanny burbs who would debate the point were it worth debating.
Mr. Marvin was the real deal in life ... served as a sniper with 4th Marine Division .. was wounded badly enough on Saipan that he was discharged .. most of his outfit was killed during that fight.
I love what Mr. Selleck has done as far as realism in firearms, clothing, etc. and would never say he was "inferior" to Mr. Marvin.
Have never seen the original-will be looking.Love the line-"you cann't imagine how little I care" or something to that effect in the Selleck version.Applies to a lot of things in the correctional field
I'd seen Selleck in Last Stand at Saber River, Crossfire Trail, and Monte Walsh, but didn't have them in DVD. I can't live without Quigley Down Under so I had it. I ordered the first three mentioned DVD's from Amazon and just received them yesterday. Picked Monte Walsh as the first one to watch. I think I'll watch Last Stand at Saber River tonight.

Got them all...and they are great movies....
But you must add the Sacketts and Shadow Riders to that list...
And you cant forget another great movie Quigley Down Under.
