Writ for a rat. Service of same.

Post by M. M. Wright »

This is the take from my trapline this morning. The big one, caught by the hind foot faced me at 10 feet and I shot him with the '92 in 32-20. 115 cast Pb over 10 grains of 2400. Gutted and gilled him. I've always figured the 32-20 was too light for a white tail but now I'm inclined to try it on a small doe.

MM,
THAT is a nice picture. Any man who disembowels a nasty creature like that can be a friend of mine for life. Good job! And done with a fine rifle to boot. :D ------6

Excellent choice of trapping rifle. My old 92 32wcf has done in a lot of critters since I got it in 1954 including a 10 foot gator.

For the last 10 years or so I've depended on a black snake to take of my rodent problems. Last time I saw him, he was about 7 feet but has disappeared from my shop building so I set some of my old steel traps baited with peanut butter and olive oil. The smaller critter has been eating the bees wax/olive oil bullet lube off my bullets so I decided to cater to his preferred menu. Caught both of these last night.
