Post by RIHMFIRE »

"The Shepherd of the Hills" (1941), Wayne is an Ozark Mountain moonshiner who seeks vengeance on his father for abandoning him and his mother years earlier. Also stars Harey Carey Sr.

I saw it a long time ago, but remember it as a good one (then again, not many Wayne movies would be classified any other way with me!!! :D )

Yep, good movie. Wayne's Mother (in the movie) had a really twisted, evil, mind and the woman who played her did a heck of a good job. Lots of levers as others have said. Worth getting a VHS or DVD if you can find one.

"The Shepherd of the Hills" may just be one of the very few John Wayne movies I have not seen. I'll have to look for it.

Well, no matter. Whoever the woman was she played the part of a deranged, old, hag with a twisted mind.

The Shepherd of the Hills impressed me so much, about a year ago I shopped E-Bay and found a copy in VHS for about 3.00, got it and watched it several times since.
