Well '13 buck with '94 and better vision.
As I've said before, my open sights have been a bit hard for me to use. At least late in the day. I bought a '94 AE, 30-30, so that I could scope it. I got a 1 1/2 power Weaver from days of old. It's working out fine. So far this second weekend of season no big buck , but opening day I did shoot this fork horn. I already had some great stew. I like this gun!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, It's just nice to settle in on a lever gun for my hunt. I've done good in the last few years with my Marlin cowboy 45-70, but it didn't seem like a caliber for a scope. In good light the Marlin is still an option, late day shots were difficult.

What's your sidearm there? Very nice looking shooting rig you used to harvest that buck. Wise choice and apparently well matched to the task at hand!

I carry a Smith and Wesson New model Three Target replica made by Beretta in a 45 Colt. It also is a good shooter and has earned the spot of my number one side arm.rjohns94 wrote:What's your sidearm there? Very nice looking shooting rig you used to harvest that buck. I have the same visual problem and solved it in the same way, except I used a Burris 1.5X "shotgun scope" on mine. Works excellent; I wish somebody would re-introduce the Weaver K1.5 with a dot reticle. My favorite setup to replace irons.

Nice! Glad you made meat this year. Scopes? Hey, whatever it takes. Of my multiple leverguns, have few without "carry handles".
