Whoo is watching you...

Post by Old No7 »

Ever been out walking in the woods...

And you got that feeling that somebody or something was watching you???

Could be you turn around quick and call out "Who is there?" Well then...

Maybe this was it........................

I guess Real Tree would call that "Owl Flage" or "Tru Owl" or something...

(It's an Eastern Screech Owl, 8-10" in height.)

It was after sunset and I happened to be looking up there.
I saw him land, I NEVER heard a thing.

It is fascinating how utterly QUIET they are. Like bats.

I have heard the wind hitting the feathers of a vulture (circling 20 feet over me - I was 'playing dead' just to see if they'd come close), and of course we've all heard bird's wings flutter when they are that far away taking off from a bird-feeder or whatever. But we caught and released a bat from our attic once, and upon tossing it into the air in dead-calm, quiet, night air, there was nothing at all audible as it took to the air. Same thing happened years ago with a wounded-and-healed great horned owl that a veterinarian brought out for us to see and to turn loose. Truly silent flight.

A Hawaiian Pueo (poo-way-oh) Owl almost got my kitten when I lived on Maui, just happened to look out on deck and see one silently gliding in for the kill so I stepped out quick just in time! :o

Here the amazing transforming owl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQeN-fcDvC4

Nice pics guys.

I feel safer and more content in the woods than I do anywhere else, except in my gun room.

I do get that feeling at work though......corporate cameras......2 and 1/2 years to go.----6

They have been trying for the last couple of years. They have left me alone since I brought charges against the high command for harassment. I did all of the talking, documentation, and research while the union stood there with their tail between their legs.----6
