We've seen a few previews and so on, but so far I've not seen or handled one in person. Looks real nice. Depending on how it would perform with low-power loads, it could fill a big niche. Just add a 32-20 Marlin and what else would you need...?

I don't need one, but at this point, need is not the reason I buy any firearm. No plans to buy one, but....................

I still have quite a bit of 500 ammo from when I had a Smith, that`s a good excuse to get one huh?

Best excuse I've seen...

I ordered one after posting to see if anyone had handled one in person a while back. I got a big old "No!" so I thought I would take the first plunge to see what I thought. It should be done about October-ish, but no guarantees. When it comes in, I will make sure to post photos and reviews. May even try to find a few Levergunners around me and offer to let them come test it themselves.
Typing this, I've become very anxious all over again.
I missed your post inquiring about the Big Horn Armory Model 89 500 S&W Magnum Levergun.
I had the opportunity to handle the prototype rifle during the first two years of development.
Handling and accuracy are good and the workmanship is excellent. You can not go wrong if you are looking for a big bore rifle.
You will enjoy the rifle you have ordered.

That's one handgun I never really lusted for. The 44 Mag and 45 Colt seem just perfect. Still love the idea of a 'short, fat magnum' in a straight-wall levergun cartridge though...
