But I will get to shoot this one very soon, since a very close friend has just added it to his collection!
He's been on the hunt for a older Schuetzen-style .22 single-shot for many years now, and he sure stumbled onto a good one! (I am quite sure the Double-Income-No-Kids lifestyle [and you know what that acronym spells!] helped make this a reality for him when he finally found it...)
Some not-too-great cell phone pix follow below, but he says it is even better in person! Can't wait to see it, and especially to try it out offhand. Sure hope she shoots as good as she looks -- and as well as she "should", given her special provenance.
Some details include:
* A nice Unertl scope (I have no details on that yet)
* It has a 21+3/4” gain-twist barrel (with an excellent bore)
* Barrel is stamped "H.M. Pope" from March, 1911
* Original Winchester lever has the rare Pope-style finger grips added
* Has Winchester double-set triggers
* Soule tang sight (mint)
* Pope-style Palm rest and Schuetzen-style butt
* Gorgeous wood & checkering
Here's the requisite eye candy... Enjoy! Tight groups to all.
