Turkey season starts in the morning

Turkey season in Central Florida starts tomorrow morning, march 16th..
Went out scouting this morning and located 3 gobblers...
2 of them are way off the logging roads, 3/4s of a mile or so,
in cypress swamps...
and another is near where everyone wants to hunt.....its public land

Got my portable pop-up blinds ready if needed, my regular stick/camo blind too
checking all my calls tonight..
sanding the slate calls and chalking up the box cutter...

Cant wait...pretty cool out too...41 this morning..
should be a tad warmer tomorrow morning and then it will
get up to 72 ...

this is my absolutely my favorite type of hunting...

Love the spring turkey woods, especially when ol' Tom is gobbling. Our turkey season doesn't open for another month though. Good luck!

Good luck in the am, I am looking forward to opening day in Ga! Been practicing with a mouth call for a month on the drive into work. It is 1 F here today, took my little guy out for a walk, just to fight cabin fever.

N.M. ruined turkey hunting for me when they made it shotgun only.
Used to love hunting them with my .22 Mag bolt rifle.

Mescalero you are right, a good .22 is turkey hunting at it's finest. I saw about 20 rio grandes at the ranch this last week and about 6 pigs as big as a shoebox.
