Spent some of my ill gotten gains

Post by Les Staley »

Got my new Freedom 97 45 colt this morning..Whata pistol!! Sold some evil black rifles and rotated my stock a little. Ended up with a Browning 53 in 32-20, a stainless Rossi trapper 44 mag and this pistol. fun guns all!! Some day I,ll learn pictures

How does the 97 compare to the 83? I love my 83, but it is a big gun. The 97 seems it would pack a little easier. How does recoil feel in the 97? I put a Bisley grip and hammer on my Blackhawk, and I really love shooting it that way, much better recoil control for me.

Thanks,
Steve

SteveR..the 97 is a lot smaller than the 83 It,s a mid size..compares with my 50th Anniversey Ruger flattop 44 mag. Later today I,ll dig out a couple of pistols and take some side by side pix. The recoil is just fun, you know you did something...not bad with the first load I tried.. Les

Les, those FA revolvers are known for their accuracy. Let us know how she runs when you get your loads dialed in!

Very nice. They are great firearms. I had one in that caliber with a shorter octagon barrel. I think there is someone here who has it now

I am now thinking very hard about getting a 97, I haven't seen any around my neck of the woods. Thank you for the information. And congrats on the excellent finds you just got.

Thanks,
Steve
