Fascinating story. Would have been neat to have been one of the shooters, but I'm sure I couldn't shoot well enough to tell a 0.1" gun from a 0.9" one. Glad some who could do so got the chance, though.

Interesting - I sent my cousin (Viet Nam era special-forces veteran still employed by Uncle Sam) the article, and it turns out a friend of his knew T.J.Jackson and was invited along on one of the trips to the warehouse as a driver, since the vehicle they usually towed their equipment trailer with was one he'd sold them. Small world.
