can anybody tell me the difference between a 30aw and a 336 and when the 30 aw was produced

Name and wood only. I'm guessing the mid 80's.

I'm not sure about the 336, but the 336 with a suffix usually had a front sight ramp mounted to the barrel with screws and a front sight post dovetailed into the ramp, while the 30AS has a taller front post dovetailed into the barrel itself. These probably varied by year of manufacture.

Also, I think some years some may have had forend caps instead of the barrel band.

My impression is that they changed the features on both the 336 and the 30AS from time to time so what was true one year may not be true for a different year.
