Colt Letter

Post by pwl44m »

Finally got My Letter from Colt. I was hoping it would specify Grips but it just says not listed. So I guess I can put anything I want on it, not that I couldn't before but I wanted to wait to see if they were specified so as to put the correct ones on it.
I was thinking it was made in 1910 but as per the letter it was shipped in 1902 which makes it just over 110 years old. I hope You can read the Letter so it can speak fo itself.

See what turnin 65 does to Ya, I said I thought it was made in 1910. Gaks post triggered a move to look up My original post when I got the Gun. Sure enough right there in black and white so to speak I posted that it was made in 1902. Too many Guns doesn't help either. So in the future I will check to see what I said so I don't appear to be a blithering Idiot. It wouldn't do Me good to get in trouble, I caint even remember the truth much less a Lie.
@ sixgun, it would definitley be cool to find out how it got from Montana to Kalifornia. Wonder if He/ she had to register it when they got here?

Good on 'ya, Perry. I'm far too cheap to letter my Colts; 110 bucks is way over the top to me.

Perry,

I think the $100 invested in the letter should easily add that much or more value to your Colt. It seems that a western cowboy era firearm with provenance is much more desirable than one without.

That is certainly a very interesting link posted by harry!
