Man shoots self & wife in gun safety class

Post by getitdone1 »

Just read where a guy in Virginia shot himself in the hand, bullet went through and into wifes leg--while gun safety instructor had stepped out of the room.

Moral of this story: "Keep your eyes wide open and be on guard when attending a gun safety meeting." Those people are there for a reason! (or two) :D

A perfect example of what happens when you decide to throw the rules out the window.

... and this guy apparently decided to throw all 4 of Col. Cooper's rules out at the same time.

Gun safety is, after all, for rookies.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Right...

It's always someone else's fault.

Do the instructors pat people down? Run them through a TSA metal detector?

I don't know about that but when the wife and I took the CCW class last year the two Police Officers who were instructing the group of 18 checked the guns at the door and had large signs both outside the door and inside the room. they loudly repeated "NO AMMO IN HERE"............................. and I am glad they did as there were a few idiots in the group who had no common sense at all. .

There was when I was in High School (Rifle Club)at least 4 occasions within the 6 years (I know of) in which the ceiling tiles were shot.

I didn't do it either! :D

You can't protect people from themselves. You an be anally redundant about no ammo in the class room and there'll always be someone who thinks the rules don't apply to them and there ya go, someone loads a mag and forgets it's the one with the ammo in it and a ND happens.

I know that many tv's have been killed by empty guns. I myself murdered an innocent suitcase many years ago.

When I was a teenager, I took out the screen to an old B&W tv in my room with a BB pistol. The glass cover that protected the CRT......Convinced my Mom that it must have got hot and cracked

I recall many years ago, a fellow I knew in Sacramento, big time High Power shooter and pompous jerk, "dry firing" in his living room, shot the knob off the front door of the across-the-street neighbor.

Just glad he wasn't playing sniper!!

Last year when I went through a handgun instructor course one of the attendee's shot a hole through the wall in the hotel I was staying in. The bullet went through the wall and right over the neighbor's laptop monitor where the guy had just been sitting but got up to use the head. ND's happen and sometimes the damage is irreversible.
