Hmm, I have a 64A and recognize the LEVER, but that tang I've never seen...

Probably because I've never had it apart.

Where would I find this tang on mine?
So far as I knew, the innards of the 64A were the same as the 94 from the same era, (early 70's).

Like I said, I don't know much.
Sorry I couldn't help more.

The trigger sticks out of it. If you would lever open your lever and compare the holes to the unknown tang it might help.
Kind regards,

Tycer,
I don't have a Mdl 64, but do have pics of a member of the old forum (Bobcat), that I helped solve a problem on his and he shared some pics with me while he had it apart.

Here's the pertinent parts. Again, you'll see a different cut for the lever/link pin.

Scott64A,
Yes, the internal parts on the Mdls 55, 64, 64A, & 94 are all the same. The only two parts that differ in versions of like production years are the lever and lower tang.

So iffin a fella wanted to convert a 94 to a curved tang, he could use a 64 stock, lower tang and spring and lever?
Kind regards,
Tycer

Yes, but... depending on the vintage of your model 94, the lower tang parts may not fit. The Mdl 64 and Mdl 64A both use a leaf mainspring, but the Mdl 64 uses a single spring with a "stirrup" type hammer. The Mdl 64 uses the double mainspring with a "flat" bottomed style hammer. As in the picture above.

If you have a late 70s ('77 or later) style, even the rebounding hammer style, you could use a NEW lower tang from a Legacy, as in:

Or:

This is a brand new lower tang (bare) from a Winchester Legacy I ordered from Winchester and installed a late 70s spring, spring guide, hammer, sear, trigger, trigger block. All the parts fit. I'm waiting for the guy to has promised me three stocks to match up forends and ship the same so I can do the final fit to the stocks and have the metal finished.

The top photo is one of two brand new, unused, commemorative receivers I came across. One had a slight casting flaw, since welded & reground to fit a new bolt.
