Am I wrong?

The markings on my Win 94 Trappers are exactly the same as my 20" models, and the barrel diameters are the same at 16". There is no way for anyone to tell if a 20" was cut down without the original box.
When buying Trappers, know they might not have been born that way. Not that it matters, as there is really no premium placed on the Trappers.

What say you?
Kind regards,
Tycer

You're exactly right. No way whatsoever unless, of course, the stocks are other than walnut.

The Trappers in all configurations actually are going for around $500 plus.

Which is still almost 1 1/2 times what they could be had for before the cease of production.

About the only way I could think of is to compare the muzzle and front sight of a KNOWN Trapper to the suspect one. If identical, I'd say OEM Trapper, if not, a cut down carbine.

Ricky, Steve Young has a custom Trapper .45 LC in SS for sale on his website, he tricked it up for a customer that fell through. Just a thought. Jim
