If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
The 44 Special brass thread got me wondering. If we were to do a special headstamped brass, what caliber would we be able to come up with the required 10k or 50k pieces?

Yeah, 30-30 would be the first choice. So it'd be "LEVERGUNS .30 WCF"?
That would be kinda cool if it would fit...

I would be in for 30WCF brass, or another option might be 45-70. Either would be super cool.

That or ".357 Paco" as almost as many (more?) people here run .357 92s as .30-30 anything else

Fifty to 100 THOUSAND pieces, half the money up front, plus the cost of the headstamp die. The balance due on delivery. AND somebody has to receive and handle it. Starline won't stock it. BTDT, got the tee shirt.

Another vote for the .30-30 here. If we could do 2 batches I would go for the .357, but that is if we can do a second. As far as someone to do all the work, I am not sure who could, but we should all chip in to pay him for his time.

I think 357 would be good. Also a wildcat cartridge made from a neck down 44 Rem mag case to 357, along with a new lever gun promotion form Savage,Ruger Highlighting this cartridge and its new lever gun. Newt Gingrich, suggest this to me.

I might be in for .30 WCF, but I'd definitely be in for .45 Colt, or even better, 45-70.

Re: If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
I voted 45/70 but the 30/30 a close second both being classic levergun cartridges. I already have a ton of .357 brass so no sense, for me anyways.
I see so many favoring the 30/30 aka 30WCF yet no votes for it in poll at this moment. What da hay?

Toss up between the 30WCF and the 45-70 but I went for the 30WCF in the end as I get through many more of those

Re: If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
I voted .32-20 because they are ones that sometimes you need alot of (it is really FUN to shoot alot of, and really cheap to shoot alot of, and the brass sometimes doesn't last too long due to the necks), AND because the smaller brass cases are likely cheaper, so we collectively are likelier to afford to buy the thousands required for an order.
OTOH I have 'enough' brass of everything except two cartridges - the .218 Bee isn't all that common even in the levergun world, and the other one is the .375 Ruger, which is oh so much FUN to shoot, but definitely not one I'd order a thousand cases of...

Re: If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
I just voted for the 45-70 as that is the levergun cartridge I shoot the most aside from 38-40 (which I know would never have enough votes to get anywhere) but besides the 348WCF I would buy brass for any of the calibers listed. Here's hoping something comes of this!

Gotcha Tycer - I could have gone for 45-70 or 30-30 too but I have a lot of brass for either one.
Side note - thought of you on Sunday - saw a box of 357 Maximum for $56.75. Wow.

LEVERGUNS 30 WCF
or
LEVERGUNS 357 MAGNUM
I think the 30-30 is more of a traditional

more brass in that caliber.

Re: If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
Interesting that no .44 was included in the list -- .44-40, .44 special or .44 mag. Although my preference would probably be .45-70 or .30-30, I just don't see me shooting enough of either to warrant buying 500-1000 cases to supplement my current supplies.

Re: If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
Since the .35 rem is not an option I chose 30-30, my 2nd favorite.
Re: If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
I think the 30 WCF may be the most iconic cartridge associated with leverguns. I do not have one at the moment and I don't know if I will acquire one or not. So, while I will vote for 30-30 I would not be able to participate in the purchase. I do have 45-70 or 357 Mag, 35 Rem, 300 Sav, 22 RF in levers. Another cartridge that goes along with leverguns is the 300 Savage! Only a semi-auto and two bolt guns were factory made for this cartridge and only one of the bolt guns is still available new. The Savage 99 was THE rifle for the 300 Savage in it's day and is THE rifle that most people first think of when you say "300 Savage", just like "30-30" conjures up images of a levergun first and foremost. The 348 Win and 405 Win are two more "levergun" cartridges (although offered in a handful of other actions here and there). Of course, less popularity to get to the minimum order quantity...

Re: If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
I hit 45-70, but that was before i saw 30 WCF as an option (dont know how i missed it) --- but.......... if minimum order is 50-100,000 , assume we have at least 50 interested guys , that would be 1-2k apiece. That's pistol ammo territory --- so although i said 45-70, i possibly meant to say .357 MAgnum first, then .45 Colt.
A lot of us could justify having 2k of 357 brass, but 200 pieces of 45/70, or 500 pieces of 30/30 is a lifetime supply for me

I'd like a "basic" case that bore the headstamp of just "leverguns" and made in 38-55 that way I could neck to 30-40 , 30wcf , 32WS , or 38-55 .

Re: If leverguns.com were to headstamp brass, what caliber?
Pretty cool idea, I would probably take a few 45-70 cases with Leverguns on them. However when I first saw the title a few days ago I fully expected to see .45LC and .44-40 as the top two with 38-55 and a few others thrown in. Maybe I'm just not up to speed on what a classic levergun caliber is lol. .30-30 seems more like a modern lever round to me for whatever reason.

I figured that "LeverGun" with no caliber would be fine as a head stamp alone . 30-40 , 38-55 , 32 win special , and 30 WCF could be made from the basic brass and would sell in greater quanities .
