12/30/11 Range report update...My First Cowboy Rifle
Update range report Pic.12/30/2011
Uberti 1873 Deluxe Sporting Rifle 32-20
Just picked this up the other day from a fellow member on here. Can't wait to shoot it.
I guess you can call it my first Cowboy gun I do have a Browning 1886 45-70 Rifle but that's my
"Big Bear Gun"
My last 5 shots @ 100 yards. with Winchester 100gr. ammo I'm happy with it cause Im far sighted and the front sight is a little blurry when I shoot iron sights. Also shot some ultramax 115 gr. really didn't care for them not near the punch as the Winchester ammo

Re: My First Cowboy Rifle
That's awesome!
Just spent the day shooting with three of my grandsons. They liked the model 92 in 32-20 best of what we shot. Fun caliber.

Re: My First Cowboy Rifle
The little .32 WCF is at the top of my "FUN" cartridge list... And the '73 is a perfect platform for it.
Enjoy your combination !!!!!

I know you will get alot of enjoyment from that rifle in a great round. I have an 1892 Winchester .32wcf I bought in 1953, my all time best rifle.

Re: My First Cowboy Rifle
I've got that same rifle fixed up with a Marble's tang sight and a Lyman 17A globe front that I use for Cowboy Lever Action Pistol Cartridge Silhouette shooting. Just last month I fired my third Master score, and as soon as I can hold steady enough for ten-in-a-row on Turkeys I'll have completed a Grand Slam too!
These rifles are great shooters. Congratulations and enjoy!

Re: My First Cowboy Rifle
This is my first, a Mattel "Shootin' Shell" I got way back in second grade. Until you shoot one of these, you don't realize how cheap it is to shoot real guns. "Shootin' Shell" ammo is about $60.00/pack of 2 shells and 6 projectiles, and that is if you can even find it...

I had one of those too and that's why I think I have this subconcious addiction to the Model '73.Shrapnel wrote:This is my first, a Mattel "Shootin' Shell" I got way back in second grade. Good shootin! That's a winner for sure!
And Shrapnel, my first levergun was a little Daisy. And then I got a full auto! Matel M-16 Marauder - still have it!
