I saw this feller before he saw me! I was still hunting, standing in the shade as the sun set, watching mice scury through the leaf around my feet.
Eventually at 12yds he presented himself through a window my arrow could fly, looks like no meat damage! Check the tail feathers, they have been bitten off by a fox as it nearly grabs it! Looks like most the hen birds have already been "chomped" as an old keeper friend use to say around here.
Tia is intently watching a squirrel in a small larch as the photo is taken!
