LSI PUMA 102 YD. 5 SHOT GROUP
Went over to my neighbors to shoot with him a little bit this evening before dark and heres a pic of my 1st 5 shots with American Eagle 240 gr. JHP with the stock open sights...the other holes are from his handloads that I was trying in my gun, it did not like them at all... Also sat a 32 0z. Gatorade bottle up same distance full of water and blew it apart 1st shot, so Im happy with the way the gun shoots with these bullets.

Looks like a keeper. Do you handload? Looks like the starting point would be close to the factory load.

no I have never gotten into handloading, my neighbor does if I want to try a load he would load some up for me...no more then I shoot anymore its just as cheap for me to buy 50 round boxes.... I jut use the .44 to deer hunt, have always used a slug gun until last year.

That's good shootin. You'd be hard pressed to develope a handload any better.

Yeah, but after you get to shootin' that little levergun a bit more, you'll be having so much fun, you'll start to sling more lead down-range, and the 'equation' might just change in favor of handloading.dbowling wrote:no I have never gotten into handloading, my neighbor does if I want to try a load he would load some up for me...no more then I shoot anymore its just as cheap for me to buy 50 round boxes.... A 240-grain JSP in .44 Mag seems to like something between 19 and 21 grains of 2400 powder, and I reloaded my first 5,000 rounds or so with one of these that costs (now) a whopping $24.99:

This powder will load well over 1000 rounds $64.99 - http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/de ... ber=120795
These primers will load 1000 rounds $36.49 - http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/de ... ber=276481
These bullets will load 1000 rounds @ 144.99 - http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/de ... 1050725344
So, for about $275, you'll have 1,000 rounds of ammo that you'd pay $500 to $1,000 for, thus saving enough money by the second or third time you reload the brass to buy another rifle...!
