Public apology to Griff and everyone else

In my Colt conversion thread Griff asked me why i`d want to convert a perfectly good BP pistol to shoot cartridges and i replied and said , because i can.
I want to apology to Griff and anyone else that thought i was trying to be a smart butt, i assure everyone that was not my meaning it was just a saying that rolled off my tongue. Kinda like when someone asks ya why ya have so many guns, ya say , because i can.
So my apologies to Griff and anyone else that thought i was being rude as it wasn`t intended that way.
I will never intentionally say anything to hurt anyones feelings and consider you all friends and appreciate everyones replies and info.

To get Griff mad, you'd probably have to talk bad about his horse, or perhaps the Navy Seals or something. I don't even remember him yelling at "Aces and Eights."

I've always wondered how Outlaw Ned Christie was able to convert his 1860 Colts to the metallic cartridges in his backwater gunshop. He must have been a pretty skilled dude to have done it and to have trusted his life on them.

Thanks guys, i pm`ed Griff and there is no problem between us but i wanted to explain and make sure everyone knows that i wasn`t being rude and that i would not intentionally say anything to hurt anyones feelings.

No need for a bunch of replies i just wanted to be sure there were no hard feelings.
I`d like to take this time to say how much i like this board and how friendly a place it is.
I`ve been hanging out on these boards for many years and some boards get real clickish or slow because no one replies to posts. I`ve said something a few times on those boards and am always told that people are to busy but they do read the posts. It`s always been my opinion that if ya got time to be on the board and ya can reply you should do so. Another good one is that the topic has already been discussed so no need to reply. Well i`m sure everything has been discussed one time or another and the search function is handy at times but if everyone felt that way the board would come to a halt.
Then i have to compliment the admid and moderators on this board for keeping a check on things and being fair.
Then i`d like to say that most of us are going through hard times from either the economy or health problems and i can tell ya from my heart that fellowship and friends help so much.
Thanks for the way you guys run things around here and i hope it stays as nice as it is now.

Pitchy - an apology is one thing but I think penance is due here - no go out back and make a covered wagon with a Swiss Army knife and don't take all day about it. And we want to see the the steps in pictures.

Seriously, the tone did seem a bit different for you but I think that is why you do stuff out there at The Pitchy School of Survival and Makin' Stuff. Because you can.

"Because I can" is actually a good reason. There are a bunch who can't. Besides, converting a BP revolver to shood metallic cartridges sounds like a fun project. I would like to see the pictures of the finished work.

Pitchy, as I said, no offense taken where none was intended... if it seems like I delayed answerin'... well, I just didn't have one. Because I can is perfectly plausible reason for undertakin' a venture. Me, on the other hand... I have to stick to, "...I think I can!"

Everyone here is supposed to be enough of a 'grownup' to deal with the pros and cons of internet web-site 'verbage'; Hobie rightfully issues a smack-down if we step across the lines of "don't say stuff you'd not say in front of the neighbor's kids or wife or your mom", but other than that, any 'offense' taken is likely in the offendee's own mind.

I think you'll find many of us have a smart-alec streak. Mine happens to be a mile wide...

Must be something to do with that pesky independent streak many of us have as well.

I have a .45ACP cylinder for my Uberti 1858... because it gives me more options. No other reason.
