OT--Belt Pouch
Made up this belt pouch for carrying 25 rounds of ammo and spare gun parts or what ever.
At first it didn`t have the zipper but added one as if ya sat down contents would fall out.
Works pretty good, hope ya like it.

Nice - good work! Looks good and will be quiet in the woods too - unlike a lot of modern fabrics.

Thanks gents, it is pretty comfortable to wear and handy to get to things, i`m going to put a spare ejector, extractor and lever screw for the Marlin in a small cloth bag and carry also.

Spare parts ? I hope your kidding right. If I couldn't trust a new gun anymore than that I'd trade it for a Mosin Nagant with a bent barrel and a sharp stick.

Better trade that Harley for a Honda then.

Re: OT--Belt Pouch
Spare parts ............ J Miller's rule of thumb:
If you have spare parts, none will ever be needed. If you don't have spare parts the most inconvenient to acquire part will break or fling off into the farthest corner of the world and you'll never find it.
Since the mid 1960s, this theory has worked perfectly.
For my Win 94s:
I have spare firing pins for all the varieties - I've never had one break. I've got spare carrier springs for all the varieties - I've never had one break.
I've got spare screws of all sizes both pre and post 64, haven't needed any.
The only rifles I don't have spares to are my Marlins. And that's just cos I haven't gotten around to buying them ... yet.
In my not so humble opinion anyone who shoots a lot needs a stash of spare parts.
OH by the way, on our home page http://www.leverguns.com/ is a section called Marlin Resources:
http://www.leverguns.com/articles/Marli ... mation.htm .
Six links down from the top is one called Marlin Maintenance and Spares Kit:
http://www.curtrich.com/marlinspares.html
It's worth the read, and the only parts I'd add to his list is buy one of every screw on the rifle, not just the lever screw.

Re: OT--Belt Pouch
I agree Joe, i`d rather have a part than not in a emergency.
Walkswithgun knows all the irritating trouble i`ve had with the new guide gun so i think that`s what he is talking about.

Re: OT--Belt Pouch
Nice work, Pitchy.
Great idea.
Much classier than a bulky, noisy, brightly-colored, injection molded box too.
I have carried rimmed pistol cartridges in a leather draw-string pouch for years.
Handier, quieter and protects them from damage and pocket fuzz.

Re: OT--Belt Pouch
Pitchy,
Looks like it will get the job done.
Just for my curiosity, what does the main pouch measure, then the added compartment?

A possibles bag is a good thing, but if you're not careful putting pockets on it you're going to end up with a backpack.

Re: OT--Belt Pouch
6x6 from zipper down and width.
The new compartment that i sewed on crooked is 4x4.
I really like this pouch, got 20 rounds of 45-70 ammo in the main compartment plus the parts and compass.
Neat old compass huh, found it in the junk drawer.
kimwcook ya could be on to something

Re: OT--Belt Pouch
I just figured the angle was because it was a right-handed belt pouch, (or a left-handed crossdraw one) - and you'd make the angle the opposite for the others...Pitchy wrote:The new compartment that i sewed on crooked is 4x4.
