width of sling for Winchester swivels?

Post by big bear »

Anybody know for sure the appropriate sling width to fit old style Winchester detachable sling swivels (like on DeLuxe Win71s)? Is it 1 1/4" or 1"? Thanks.

I'm guessing it's the 1¼" one because the 1" is mighty small.

:P If you'd of asked this on Monday nite, instead of Tues... I coulda measured one of mine... but they're a bit far away now! I'm sure someone will be along that has access to one to throw a tape on one. I think COSteve is right... but without one right in front of me I don't wanna commit!

I measured the sling that's been with a 1937 since it left the factory. It's one inch.

The sling on my 71 is factory, as are the swivels. The sling is 1", the swivels are 3/4" where they attach to the inletted mount. Same are on my Model 64. :)
