First shoot with new gun yesterday

Post by Renegade Master »

I picked up a very nice little 22LR underlever at a gun show last weekend and took it to the range for the first time yesterday.

I love this thing. The action is very slick, and considering I was shooting it with the open sights (which were off, and which I haven't used since I was a kid) I was very impressed with the accuracy. I've ordered some mounts today so I can get a scope fitted for next weeks range visit.

All in all, very glad it shoots as good as it looks. :D

Just because there's pictures in that link doesn't excuse not having pictures in this thread. :)

That's a nice rifle. Glad you like it. You'd be surprised how accurate it can be with a little practive with open sights.

I'm sure it is accurate with the open sights. In fact I was getting reasonable groups after about 50 shots, it's just that I'm used to a scope and have a nice little 1.5x5 sitting at home getting dusty. :D

And as you asked so nicely, more pics

Renegade Master,

That's a very nice rifle. I never seen one dressed up like that.

Nath should be along shortly I think he has one of those as well. I'm with Joe though, I've never seen one with the engraving like that. It's very tastefully done. Can you tell if it was done at the factory or afterward?

I think the engraving was done at the factory, it doesn't look like it's been added afterwards.

Nath, so far just CCI standards. i'll have to go through the whole trying loads of brands to see what it likes. Hopefully it will like CCI as my other rifles do and it's easier to just by one brand.

Hope yours is as good as my Winchester , it pretty much shoots any ammo. I have not found any ammo that it utter useless in it yet.

There you go - nice Browning. And they are very quick to cycle without even removing your hand from the stock - using fingers only.

Congrats again!
